1929 st. louis blues- filmed in black and white with visuals of the artist singing with background singing. sad and slow sounding which would imply the artists sorrow.

Lesson 1: Music Video 14/09/16
MV1: The purpose of this video is to promote the artist and to promote the song by creating dance to go with this specific style of music.MV2: The purpose of this video is to promote the artists album by giving the video an interesting storyline that interacts with the viewers. this video also increases the artists range of media by getting the world talking about his video. The video could also be a subliminal message to people watching and the "monsters" seen and spoken of could be a representation of something else.
MV3: The purpose of this video is to promote the artists album and to tell a story about parts of his life and his opinions on his views of society and how people are trying to be like him but stating there is only one. this could be a message to new rappers and a warning not to repeat what he does. Also this video obviously shows how the artist doesn't care about peoples opinion on his decisions and says how he is brave enough to say what he says about society/the media and be blasé about it.
Drakes "Hotline Bling" got massive publicity through TV, social media and radio by incorporating a good beat and simplistic lyrics with interesting dance moves throughout the video that overall turned into a catchy song that is widely recognised through multiple groups of people. the song hit top charts within the first week of being releases but however, Drake did not have a video released with the song and so the song was never played on youtube or on TV until a few weeks of being on the top charts.
